Regular Season Round 6: Rio Maior - BTG Academy 92-94

A very close game was the one between ItalianBTG Academy and Portuguese Rio Maior . Sixteenth ranked BTG Academy (4-4) got a very close victory over second-best Rio Maior (2-4). BTG Academy managed to escape with a 2-point win 94-92 on Saturday evening. BTG Academy was tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. BTG Academy forced 21 Rio Maior turnovers and outrebounded them 49-34 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was French center Anton Mendy (207-2006) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Polish center Oliwier Fiecko (215-2007) chipped in 9 points and 15 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was N'Zoge Troso who recorded 12 points and 7 rebounds and Gustavo Luis added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Four Rio Maior players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. BTG Academy have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixteenth position with 4-4 record, which they share with Vienna Utd. and IBA Bologna. Loser Rio Maior keeps the second place with four games lost.
